Microsoft has used the kerberos networked authentication protocol with some extensions since the release of Windows 2000.

The Open Source protocol was developed at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and is freely available for use.

The current version 5 can be used to build an authentication server providing single sign on services to Windows, LinUX and UNIX clients.

Kerberos can be combined with the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) to provide active directory services.

If you would like to install free Open Source authentication services or you need support for your present configuration give me a call on 0709 229 5385, or email me at fulford@fulford.net.
